All of us have contemplated our past, agonized over our present, and worried about our future. It’s not uncommon in metaphysics to think about our past lives and what we might have carried forward into our present circumstances. If you really want to stretch the boundaries of your brain, include the concepts of quantum physics and see how much your perception of who you are and what you are capable of doing expands.
Humans like to keep things orderly. We live life in a linear fashion as that is how we perceive life and time and how it seems to work. If we’re willing to open ourselves to working with levels of energy and possibilities that we hadn’t anticipated, we might be able to delve deeper into ourselves and our circumstances than we previously thought possible. Thinking about the lives we might have lived before this one is a lot to grasp for some people. Many people think that this incarnation is the only one we’ll have. That once we’re dead, poof, nothing remains. Many think that there are final destinations, which are some version of Heaven or the hot seat, and that there is no chance for our souls to take another spin in a physical existence. When working with clients, I always keep the option of past lives in the mix when looking for where the root of an issue lives. It has become part of the pattern for me. It really bent my brain to think that a problem in this life could be the result of some trauma in a future life.
What prompted this was listening to a radio program about a psychologist who primarily did past life regressions who had a client with an issue that was anchored in a future life. After working with his client, they were able to clear up the issue. Hearing that, my brain nearly fell out of my head. It had never dawned on me before that we could be affected in our present life by something that happened or will happen in a future life.
How can a future life affect a present life? If we think of life as a linear timeline, then it’s not possible. If we think about it in terms of quantum physics, where all things happen at the same time, and all lives are happening concurrently, it then makes sense that a “future” life can affect our current life. I kind of see it as if each life is stacked on another like hotcakes, and what affects one layer affects them all, like syrup seeping through to the next pancake. It’s not the best analogy, but you get the point. Although there is a strong belief by some that our existence is linear. I heard it explained from a video I watched that life could be like a river and the current life is your location on the river. Your past life would still be visible by looking back, and your future life or lives could be viewed further downstream. I find that thought fascinating, but that might be a topic for another time. For right now, we’re going to work from the premise that our past, present, and future are happening at the same time and that something traumatic that happened or will happen in our future lives affects us in this one.
Hold that thought for a moment and see how that feels. Does that thought resonate with you? It didn’t with me at first, but of course, curiosity and my endless need to experiment with energy had me thinking of how I could test this theory for myself. I am a fan of muscle testing, so I started with that. I asked myself if something in my future life or lives was affecting me in this one. The answer was yes. I regularly send my consciousness back in time and do the same for the future. With the help of my guides, I went to the two lifetimes where something occurred and altered what I could to remove the trauma from traveling back in time to my current existence. Do I recommend everyone do this? No.
It’s possible that you could see things about your future life that you don’t expect. In my case, one of the lives I visited was a surprise in that I lived on another planet and wasn’t human. I got the impression of being humanoid and possibly with light green skin, but I didn’t get anywhere near a mirror to validate. My experience wasn’t as an observer outside the body but as a passenger inside, seeing things through the eyes of my future self. Also, my guides made sure that I only learned what I needed to take care of the issue in this lifetime and not to get any other information. It was to prevent me from getting absorbed in the details of that life. I wanted to satisfy my curiosity about the future but they reminded me that my job was to live the life I had now. I would get there when I got there if I chose to go there at all. All life and circumstances are ever-changing. By the time my consciousness was ready to take its place in that lifetime, many things may be different.
What I do recommend is that you think about your life is broader terms than you’re used to. We tend to think a lot about our past in our current lifetimes. Some of us spend more time looking back than looking forward. If you believe in the wisest people during this lifetime, your time is best spent not looking back or forward but around where you stand. Keep an open mind and open heart as much as possible, knowing the priority is always what currently surrounds you. That is what creates the best life, whether in the past, the future, or the present.
