The Energy of Passing On

Trigger alert: Subject is Death-related. If it’s not your thing, see you next time.

Often, people think that it’s easy to die. From an energy perspective, that’s not necessarily true. If someone has been hanging on for a long time, they have very little energy. They only generate enough to keep the body going. It actually takes some oomph to pop the spirit out of the body. It’s that last rattling breath everyone talks about. It’s the body expelling everything it has to free the spirit.

As an energy healer, I send energy to people with the intent that they will do whatever they need to do with it and leave it there. If the person chooses to use that energy to heal and live, fine. If they use it to help them leap back to Source, that’s fine, too.

It’s not anyone’s job to tell someone else to live or die. An energy healer having a contradictory intention to that of the person receiving the energy only creates a strain on the person. Often, people send energy with a specific intent. I do it all the time. Usually, I send energy for protection. When it comes to health matters, however, I send it with the intent that they will use whatever I send them for their highest good. Whatever that happens to be is none of my business. I disagree with healers who send energy with the intention of helping a person live. That may not be what that person wants to do.

For those nearing the end of their lives, receiving energy can mitigate physical pain, help release emotional pain or regrets, and put their minds at ease. It can also give them the energy they need to make the exit from the body smoother. Often, people delay exiting, preferring to wait until a particular relative arrives to say whatever they need. By then, their energy system may be so depleted that it takes longer for them to exit. Trying to energetically “help” someone make the transition may seem cruel, but I think the alternative is worse. Most families will tell their loved ones that it’s okay for them to leave, but if they don’t have the energy to do it, they have to wait until they do. It results in more pain and suffering. No one wants their loved ones to be in that state longer than necessary.

Most of my clients who want energy work are seeking to heal something. However, I have sent energy to people who were dying at the request of their families. Here’s a side note about a rule I have about sending energy to people at the request of others. This is my own personal thing. It was passed on to me by my Reiki teacher years ago, which I try to encourage in my students. When others request energy, I can send it, but I send it not only with the intention that the person can use it however they want but also that they can refuse to accept the energy. If they refuse it, the energy is given to the Earth instead. I do this to respect the free will of the receiver. Unless I get a request directly from the person it’s going to, I add the refusal.

The person making the request may be doing so not for the highest good of the one suffering but for their own benefit. I’m not talking about a situation where they want the person to live longer to continue taking their money from a trust. Although, it could be something like that. It could also be something as simple as the person making the request refusing to let that person die because they don’t want to be alone or they feel they can’t live without them. It could be that they are requesting their loved one to be comforted and have enough energy to exit. I may never know the real reason for the request. The receiver can do whatever they like by adding the intention that the energy can be refused. Of course, it could mean they suffer more if they refuse it, but again, it’s their choice. As a facilitator of the energy process, my job is to support the choice, whether I or anyone else agrees.

I will say that the energy frequency is different when I channel energy for life or possible death. The difference is vitality. Life energy is hot, by the time the session is over, it’s not uncommon for both me and my clients to be sweating. When I’ve worked on someone closer to death, the energy is cooler and more soothing, like a warm bath. The energy feels “floaty” to me, buoyant. It tells me that it’s energy that’s likely going to be used in the transition. The other thing I found interesting is that the frequency changes. It may start out warm, as if the body needs to take care of a few things, and then it changes to that lighter, smoother energy. I’m not sure, but it could also be that toward the end, the energy system might be calibrating to the vibration of Source to make the transition easier.

Whatever your involvement in energy healing, think about your energy, how you use it, store it, and preserve it. What are the ways you use to recharge your mind, body, and soul? Get to know your own energy signature. It’s the vibration that is uniquely yours. It is the symphony of all parts of your body and energy bodies singing in harmony. Disease is discordance. Death is when the imbalance of the discord can no longer be maintained. We leave Source, live our lives, then return to Source. That is the journey of the soul. At some point, we will all need the energy to pass on.
