I’m not the only one who can see them. I’ve heard tons of stories from people who have seen their loved ones after they died. Some of them before they knew the person had died. I see them as people, but they are also transparent. It’s how my perception designates who is alive and who is dead, I suppose. They are all over the place. Some wander temporarily, hanging around to say goodbye and wrap up unfinished business. Others choose to stay among the living. They may not know they’re dead, or they may know they’re dead but refuse to take the next step in the journey of their soul.
Just because they’re dead doesn’t mean they automatically go to the light. Free will is still in play, and they get to choose to hang around as long as they like. It’s not to anyone’s benefit for them to do that, as there are advantages to taking that final step back to Source, or so I’m told. When people pass away, they are the same in life as they were in death. If they were grouchy while they were alive, they are still grouchy.
Only after they return to Source and shed unimportant things about their human life can they return to our plane of existence and function like guides or guardian angels. If they haven’t returned to Source, they are still working from the limited human perception they had in life, only able to assess situations through their filters of bias, prejudices, hopes, and fears. Once they pass through to Source and choose to come back to assist, they then possess a “bigger picture” view of our circumstances.
A friend of mine asked me if she had something attached to her. I saw that it was a ghost. I saw a middle-aged woman. She seemed pleasant. She had positive energy, but I got the distinct impression of sadness. When I spoke to her, she hadn’t been in the spirit world for too long and had been in the process of saying goodbye to family and friends. She had attached to my friend, not to hurt her, but because she found my friend’s energy to be comforting. The ghost was sad to be leaving. Often, there is a feeling of, “I have so much I want to do.” Still, I didn’t feel any regrets from her. I told her that since she had taken care of her unfinished business and my friend was feeling uncomfortable, would it be all right if I opened a door for her to step through. She agreed and stepped through without incident. I sent energy to help my friend balance from the sudden change in energy, and she was fine afterward.
I typically encounter this when dealing with ghosts, but there have been a few times when that wasn’t the case. Before I started using my gifts to help others, I went to psychic fairs to catch up with friends and have fun. I went to get a reading from a psychic that I was acquainted with but didn’t know well. She asked me if I was having thoughts that were not my own. I stared at her for a moment. I had been feeling “off” and couldn’t figure out why. I knew I didn’t have any demonic entities attached to me. I checked. What I hadn’t checked for was ghosts. It turns out there were two ghosts attached to me. One was really angry, and the other was suicidal. I didn’t feel suicidal so that one wasn’t affecting me, but the angry one was pushing my buttons. I hadn’t thought about it, but I had been thinking some intense negative thoughts that were not like me at all.
I felt like a goof for having missed it, but then, as she pulled them off me, I realized that they were at a different frequency. It’s like scanning for something on top of the bed when it’s on the floor in front of the bed. I have to change how I look at something to find everything, and sometimes I miss things. Once I got it, I saw them as she was sending them away.
Recently, I had a client with a full on vengeful spirit affecting her. The amount of negativity coming off that soul was insane. I encourage negative souls to cross over quickly to prevent them from affecting the living. Most ghosts see the open the door, say goodbye, and step into the light. Although it’s been my experience a few times that when I’ve opened the door for someone, all I see is a black curtain or void. There is no light, and if someone is waiting for them, I can’t see them. I don’t know what that means, as I have never bothered to ask. It’s partially because I’m chicken, and I don’t want to know if someone is directly stepping into their version of hell. It’s also because it’s their soul’s journey, not mine. It’s none of my business. My job was to open the door and get them to cross. It’s up to them and Source where they end up.
Sometimes, ghosts have hostile intentions, like wanting to possess someone and live again through them, but most of the time, ghosts wander around, handle their business, and don’t bother anyone. These are the cognizant ones. The ghosts people see that do the same things over and over are an imprint of the soul. Trauma in life can cause a soul to splinter in death and leave an imprint behind.
For those who can see ghosts, it would be irresponsible for me not to mention something. If you see a ghost, pay attention to how it makes you feel. If it doesn’t feel like anything or it’s pleasant. It’s probably a regular ghost. You can be on your merry way while making sure your energy is protected enough to discourage the ghost from going home with you. However, if you get a creepy or negative feeling from the ghost, it could still be a ghost or a demon disguising itself as a ghost. They often take the form of ghost children. I once worked a job where a person in the house kept seeing a little boy and was shocked when I told her it wasn’t. Before then, she was content to let it visit her whenever it wanted. After I told her, her perception could see what it really was, and she told it to get out of her house.
Like all things supernatural, fear is your enemy. Keep your wits about you, and you should be able to deal with ghosts however you see them.
