Psychometry and the Energy of Objects

If you’ve been paying attention, you know that objects are not only made of energy but also hold energy. Psychometry allows a psychic to read the energy of the object and of the owner of the object. This is usually done by holding the object in the reader’s hand and then telling the person whatever information comes through the object that doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the object itself.

The object used can be anything, a piece of jewelry, a key, a small toy, etc. It’s usually something that would fit in the palm of someone’s hand. It’s an item that has absorbed some of the energy of its owner and can then serve as a conduit through which the psychic can connect to Spirit to get information for them.

A group I used to be with had a panel of psychics. People in the group would put their objects in an envelope, and the psychics would read the object without seeing it. We would then write whatever information we got on the envelope. The psychics never knew what object belonged to whom. There was a code word written on the envelope. While some psychics opened the envelope to touch the object, I considered that cheating. I made it a point never to look at the code word on the envelope and not to open it. I wanted to read without being influenced by anything external. That restriction I placed on myself had nothing to do with how the other psychics chose to read.

Psychometry was a skill I never thought I would be able to do. It seemed strange to me at first. I didn’t get how it worked. I had items of mine read; sometimes, the reading was interesting, and other times it was so far off base as to be in outer space. I’ve since come to realize that it has to do with connection. The information gets a little sketchy if the psychic can’t connect well through the object. Later on, after I understood that, I started submitting objects that I had purposely infused with my energy to make it easier for them to connect. Then I started getting readings that made more sense.

The first time I did psychometry, I was speaking to a friend about it. She took a ring off her finger, handed it to me, and told me to try it. I got an image of a man in a homemade workshop with a red beard and wearing overalls. I didn’t get anything else. After I told her that, she stared at me and nodded. It turned out that the stone in the ring was given to her by her stepfather, a red-bearded man who loved to wear overalls and worked in his workshop in the garage.

Psychometry is another avenue for people to get information through a psychic, especially if they don’t have a question but only want to hear what Spirit wants to say. Objects can contain energy strong enough to make connections and leave impressions. That’s true whether the energy is positive or negative.

Every object holds energy. In psychometry, we use objects that are small, but even small objects can hold big energy. If you doubt that, go to a shop that sells rocks and gemstones and feel the energy of the stones. The energy contained within them has nothing to do with the size of the rock. It’s an interesting experiment to see if you can determine which stones have more power. It also makes it more of a challenge if you take friends who are as sensitive to energy as you are. Determine which stones feel more powerful to each person, then figure out what the properties of those stones are. You might be surprised to find that you have all picked a stone that is most relevant for you personally or your current circumstances.

Back to where I was going. All objects can hold energy. Every piece of furniture in your house resonates with the prevailing energy in the house. If your house is full of happy energy, your furniture will hold and reflect that. If your house is full of sorrow, angst, depression, or anger, you guessed it, your furniture will hold that as well. Objects can also hold the energy of trauma, rage, or an extreme situation like violence.

They can also hold negative entities. If you want to do some research, look up The Dybbuk Box. That should keep you busy for a time. I won’t go into details regarding this sort of thing because it puts us smack into a discussion about demons, and I’m trying to keep it light here.

My point in talking about objects and how they can also hold negative energy is to get you to think about the things you have in your home and how they affect you. I had a friend who loved thrift shopping. There’s nothing wrong with that. The problem is that he never energetically cleaned anything before he brought it home. As an energy healer, he knows better. We’ve had many discussions about it, but still, he refused. Eventually, I gave up trying to get him to do it.

I was pushing so hard because things are often donated after someone has died. Not always, of course, but unless you assess the energy of the item, you won’t know. It’s entirely possible that the cute little table you bought was in the same room where people got hurt or died. The things in the house may not have been destroyed when something happens. They are often donated. This means that energy now lives in your house. It can affect your life and the lives of your family.

Another friend of mine also loves thrift shopping. A friend had found a crystal candle stick holder for a good price and gave it to her. She set it on the desk in front of me and told me that she had checked out its energy and felt it was okay. I passed my hand over it, smiled at her, and told her to check again. I got her to really focus on the object. She found what I sensed and swore.

It’s not that the energy was bad. It was that the energy of it was stagnant. Energy is best when it’s flowing and moving constantly. It’s not good when it’s stagnant. Think of the water in a still pond, it becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes. With stagnant energy, the same thing can happen. For all objects, it’s best if the energy feels like it’s moving and that it’s positive. That is what will help preserve happiness in a household. The furniture can hold the energy of all the laughter, the good feelings, and the closeness of a family. They can help counteract times of trouble, fear, and sadness.

You can also feel those things in objects when doing psychometry. Once, I was reading an object in an envelope, and the first thing I got was an overwhelming feeling of sadness. I didn’t say anything about that as we read the envelopes out loud in the group, and I felt that was too personal to share in that manner. I asked for that to be set aside and that I receive information that the person would find useful and was given another message.

Psychometry with objects is a skill that can allow you to do mini readings without much effort and no tools, but it still requires your compassion and your willingness to help in whatever way you can by conveying the messages from Spirit as best you can. While objects can be helpful, they can also be like a Trojan horse bringing you more than you bargained for if you’re not careful in assessing the energy of objects.
