This is Part Four in the Energy Awareness Series
Now we get to the nitty-gritty, directing and attracting energy. We are already masters at this. The issue is that we do it unconsciously. The hard part is having it work in our favor when we’re conscious about it. This is what is known as manifesting.
Manifestation. The magic word of the past few years with everyone working with various techniques, some of them all at the same time to create the life they want. There’s nothing wrong with that. We all have different ways of doing things, and it’s important that we get what we need and want.
Here’s the disclaimer. Manifestation can backfire if you’re not careful. We have been told repeatedly by metaphysical gurus that we need to be specific about what we want. That’s true, we do, but make sure you give serious thought to what you want and why you want it. I mentioned before that I read a book that said don’t wish for money to buy something, wish for the thing you want to buy.
The example given was if you need medicine, don’t intend for the money to buy the medicine, intend to receive the medicine. It allows the universe to bring it to you in different ways, such as the doctor giving you whatever samples they have in the office so you don’t have to buy them. That doesn’t mean to say that you should never ask for money, money has value in our world, but money is usually a vehicle for something else. Most people don’t want money for the sake of money. They want it because of what it can do. When you’re working on manifesting what you want, think beyond to what it is you really want and direct your energy to that instead.
Here’s the hard part about manifestation, maintaining it. As humans, our attention and energy levels fluctuate from hour to hour sometimes. Manifestation is about keeping our intention focused and constantly working for us by keeping our thoughts clear and positive about what we want and believing it is already on its way to us even when we see no evidence of it. In western culture, “seeing is believing” is something we pride ourselves on. When working to manifest something, we must believe it before we see it. We have to experience it as if we already have it. Make it as real as we can. Develop your intention to include all five senses as much as you can.
Olympic athletes use their imagination to immerse themselves in the experience of winning. It not only includes visualization, but it also takes into account the sounds they would hear, the things they would smell, and the actions they would perform and when. This is manifestation in a different setting.
If you want a car, think about the kind of car you want. See yourself sitting behind the wheel of the car. What does it feel like? What does it smell like? Can you feel the vibration of the engine, or is it a silent car that makes no noise at all? What are the seats like? What color are they? How high does the car sit above the ground? Imagine it sitting in your driveway with the sun glinting off it. Fill in all the details until you feel like you own the car and it’s really sitting in your driveway.
The law of attraction works when we vibrate at the same level as something we want to attract. Luckily for us, we can’t attract something like a chair spontaneously, or we might have chairs flying toward us at random moments. We can manifest a chair to sit in when we need one, such as while taking the bus or when we need a parking space in a busy parking lot. I use it to make sure I have enough space to get on the freeway when I’m trying to get on. As strange as that sounds, it works. I project the energy of creating a space for myself, and everything lines up (usually, there are exceptions, of course) so that I can zipper smoothly into the flow of traffic.
Using LOA is about resonance. Not only achieving it but maintaining it. When you already work with energy, it’s not hard to resonate at the level of your highest good to attract it to you, but sustaining that level of vibration daily can be difficult. I said difficult, not impossible. I suspect it might be easier for people who are, by nature, optimistic. I’m often an optimistic pessimist. I’m positive something will go wrong. This is why as I write this, I assume it’s the reason for the mixed results I get when I try to get the LOA to work for me, but never mind that. We all have our challenges.
The point of this post is to help you move past the things that are blocking you from obtaining and achieving that which is for your highest good. As I can attest to, it’s a process, and getting ourselves aligned with our highest and best gets us a step closer to getting what we want and what the universe wants for us.
Then how do we do this? Start small. Build your confidence. The basis of all manifestation is Ask, Believe, Receive. If you have issues with asking, some people prefer the word Command. Flex your manifesting muscles in small ways first, then build up to asking for the bigger things. Until you have absolute confidence in your ability to manifest and consistently do it, you need to practice. Then you can go big. Another important thing to note is that when you do work your manifesting magic, always keep in mind that you always want to manifest for the highest and best for everyone concerned. If you don’t, your results could be mixed or not work at all.
We don’t live in a vacuum. Those around us will be affected by whatever changes we make, that includes whatever we manifest for ourselves. For example, a friend of mine worked hard to manifest money. The problem was that every time he did, his father would end up nearly dying. My friend would then cancel his request of the universe and give up for a time. His father was more or less healthy, but as soon as my friend tried to manifest money, his dad would soon be on the way to the hospital. At the time, we couldn’t figure out why. This was my first time seeing manifestation in action, and I wasn’t impressed. The last thing I wanted to do was manifest something at someone else’s expense. We’ll need to talk about that in another post if you do.
I know some of you might be grumbling that including the intention of the highest good for all concerned might mean that you’re taking responsibility for someone else’s happiness, but you’re not. It means that you’re accepting the good you are meant to have and that it will also benefit those around you. They might not think so if you happen to win the lottery and don’t share with them, but there are lessons to be learned and wisdom to be gained for everyone when including the intention in your manifestation process.
In the instance of my friend, if he had known better then, I’m sure he would have included “for the highest and best for all concerned” in his manifestation. It would have blocked the universe from giving him what he asked for with an early inheritance. Another friend of mine taught me a phrase I have often used when I manifest: to ask that it come to me in kind and gentle ways.
Something else to consider is how we tend to counteract our intentions. It’s important to think about it because we do it often. Someone gives us a compliment, and we automatically say thank you, then add some deprecating comment afterward. When we do that, we cancel out the positive energy we could have built upon at that moment. The same thing can happen when we’re setting our intentions for working with the LOA. The thing that will kill intention faster than anything is doubt.
If you’re not getting what you want, check your level of doubt and what beliefs you may have about whether or not your brain thinks it’s safe for you to have what you want. There may also be beliefs about you deserving it. Many people have run up against a vow of poverty they took in a past life that they carried into this one without knowing it. Muscle testing is the easiest way to find these. If you don’t know how to muscle test, many videos online show the various methods.
Remove any obstacles you encounter within yourself first, then make your intentions clear to consciously direct energy to kick start the law of attraction in your life.
If you need help upping your resonance game, I have a law of attraction journal with prompts to help you ferret out thoughts and beliefs that are not in alignment with what you’re working to create. To check out “Think, Feel, Believe, Manifest, a Law of Attraction Journal,” Click here.
