This is Part 1 of The Energy Awareness Series
We’re going back to basics on this one, energy. First off, what the heck is it? According to quantum physics, energy is everything, and everything is energy. Before your eyes glaze over, let me clarify. Scientific studies have proven that everything we perceive as reality is made of energy. I’m not going into specifics of how that’s done. You can do your own research on quantum physics. There are hundreds of articles and many YouTube videos on the subject. So much so that you could fall into the rabbit hole that it is and not come out for months.
Working from the basis that everything is energy, we are going to look at energy as if it’s a thing we can perceive with our senses, which we can, as I just finished explaining, but at a different aspect of it that we can’t see. Energy is all around us. It is mixed in with the air we breathe as well as being the air we breathe. Stay with me. There is energy with a purpose, such as the chair you’re sitting on or the light emanating from the screen you’re reading from. Then there is energy that is free floating that has no purpose. It’s energy that can be used for a purpose if directed.
People believe in “vibes,” either good ones or bad ones. This is another way to look at energy. We feel it but can’t really explain it. Energy in its natural state is neutral. Intention is what makes it positive or negative. Intention is what directs the “vibes” will feel like to anyone it encounters.
That is the basic difference between positive and negative energy. Now that you know, what do you do with that information? Now you become more aware of it. We all know people who make us feel better when we’re around them. You might not have really noticed before, but it’s because they are emanating positive energy. Your energy system, your aura, is reacting to it and finds it comfortable. There are also people we know who make us uncomfortable. Again, we may not know why, as outwardly, that person could be perfectly nice, but there is something “off” about them. This is due to your aura detecting negative energy coming from that person.
I’m sure you’ve walked into a room and could feel that you interrupted a conversation. The atmosphere feels thick with tension or that they were laughing about something a minute ago, and you missed it. You are feeling energy. Another example of feeling energy is when nothing is happening, but you suddenly catch a chill and shiver, and every hair on your body is standing up. That is a classic sign of being brushed with negative energy.
Let’s get back to intention. It’s when someone intends something to direct energy. Most of the time, the intentions are positive, so the energy directed is also positive. When the intention is negative, well, you get the point. The other thing to note is that we are so attuned to energy that we can send energy to another person without even being aware that we’ve done it.
If you’ve ever had the thought that you wish something bad would happen to someone else and mean it, even for a moment, you’ve sent negative energy. The same thing is true when you wish someone well and mean it. Intention also encompasses feeling, so if you say, “It’s nice to see you again,” when you’re actually thinking, “I was hoping never to see you again,” that sends a mixed energy signal which can confuse people.
We can perceive both the words and the feeling that goes with them. This is especially true in the case of sarcasm. I love sarcasm. I think it’s funny when it’s not mean-spirited and hurtful. Some people don’t like it because of the mixed energy it comes with or because they don’t get it. It confuses them to hear one thing but feel the opposing energy that comes with it. This is why it’s best not to be sarcastic in conversation unless you know a person well enough to know that they get it and like it.
Businesses talk about corporate culture. It’s about the atmosphere, and that is another way to say that they want to create a certain “feel” to the company. They want to create a place where employees are not only happy but content. The trick then is to find people who will thrive in the culture they are creating and then be able to maintain that atmosphere so that they lose very little of them to attrition. Most people who quit their jobs will say that it was because of a terrible work environment. There are many factors that can go into that, but what it comes down to is that when a person doesn’t feel valued or that the company doesn’t have integrity in doing what they say they’re going to do, people leave.
Think about the people you work with or live with. What is their energy like? What kind of energy exists in the places where you spend most of your time? What do you notice about yourself when you’re in those places? Remember, I said energy is everywhere. Become more attuned to the places you like and try to figure out why you like them. Does it feel comfortable there? Try to determine if it’s because of color, such as whether it’s brightly colored or dark and mysterious. Is it due to a scent? There is nothing like a smell of a bakery. Is it a sound? Is it the people? I have a friend who enjoyed shopping at a particular grocery store even though there were two others that were closer to her house because she liked talking to the employees at the store. It made her feel good to go there.
Now that you know the differences between positive and negative energy, that is only the beginning. The next step is to become more aware of the energy around you as well as the energy you radiate. Think about the kind of energy you bring to a room. Do people light up when you enter, or do they walk away or have expressions of dread on their faces? Your attitude and emotions can and do set the intention of the energy that you carry with you. If you are happy, your energy reflects that. The same is true when you are in a less than a happy emotional state.
Become more aware of the energy around you and your own energy. If you want to develop your psychic abilities, it starts with energy.
