Visions – Do You Get Them?

One of the things that can happen when gifts start developing is that people can start having visions. They can seem like images of our imagination, and they might be. It can be challenging to distinguish between genuine messages from Spirit and the ramblings of a tired mind.

One of the things to consider is if they have any significance to what is going on in your life right now. If your vision concerns something you’ve been working on, it could be that the universe is sending you information that might be important later. Keep in mind that visions can be literal or figurative. The vision you get might be fantastical in nature but practical in application. It may also represent something deeply emotional that they have chosen to portray in a ridiculous way to help you process those emotions or that situation.

Whatever the case, when you get a vision or what you think might be a vision, take some time to think about it and try to discern the significance of it. The vision you get might not be for you. It might pertain to someone else. It doesn’t mean you have to share it. It could be for information only. Source will often send us information to direct our attention to something we need to be aware of. It doesn’t mean we have an action to take regarding it.

How do you know it’s not a vision?

If you have been thinking a lot about something and then start getting visions about it, chances are, it could just be your mind working out whatever you need to about it. On the other hand, the vision could solve the issue. You have to be able to discern which it is.

What does getting a vision feel like?

It could be a flash of something. An image briefly imprinted on your mind. It could also be a mini-movie that plays in your head. Sometimes, it’s quick. Other times, it may repeat. They can occur right as you wake up or fall asleep. They can happen at any time during the day. It occurs when you are aware and your mind is open. You might be having a simple daydream about nothing, and Source may interrupt your regularly scheduled program to give you a vision of something you need to be aware of. It’s worth noting that visions can be multi-faceted, meaning you could see something but also sense, feel, hear, smell, or taste something simultaneously.

Visions can also serve as the door through which your energy can move to get you to the next thing you want to do or work on. They can help you make a choice when you are having a difficult time making one. I’ve often gotten flashes of something when thinking about an issue I was working on and received invaluable insight.

True visions are usually not scary or terrifying. However, if one of your gifts is prophecy, all bets are off. People have reported seeing visions of disasters up to weeks in advance of their occurrence. Most of us don’t fall into the prophecy category, so you are unlikely to foretell the apocalypse. Any visions you get will be relevant to yourself or the people around you.

I’ve told this story before, but this is a vision I had with a co-worker. We were getting out of our cars in the parking lot, I looked at her but saw the image of her twin sister standing in front of her. They look different enough that it’s easy to tell them apart. I ignored the vision, assuming my brain was still tired and hadn’t eaten yet. Later that morning, my co-worker stood near the coffee machine, and I saw her sister’s image over her again. By that time, I figured out that something was going on. I asked her when she last spoke to her sister; it had been a few days. I suggested she call her to check in. About an hour later, my co-worker told me that when her sister picked up the phone, she was about to call my co-worker. It turns out the sister had just been told that her husband had lost his job, and she was about to call my co-worker for moral support. In that case, the vision I had, twice, because I wasn’t paying attention, wasn’t for me but for my co-worker’s sister. The moral of the story is if you get a vision, think about it, don’t be like me, and ignore it. If you get the same vision again, it’s a prompt to do something. I can be a little slow on the uptake. Sometimes, it takes three times for something to happen or for someone to say something before I catch it.

Visions are not always warnings or portents of doom. They can also be small packages of hope, showing you how you will receive something or resolve a problem. This gift can be viewed as reading a book with a favorite character and wanting to know where they are at the end before continuing to read their story. Some people don’t like reading the ending. It spoils the story, but for those who really love their characters and there is a chance they won’t have the ending we want, we want to know in advance that they will be okay. Visions can often show us that despite all the craziness and hardship in real life, we and those around us will be okay. So don’t be afraid of visions- if you get them.
