One of the things we are often encouraged to do is to release that which no longer serves us. It’s a great idea, and it’ll be helpful if you can do it. When I pulled this card, it brought up something I hadn’t thought about before. I like words, I like logic, and I like to pull things apart and look at what they really mean. I do this in everything, including my metaphysical practice. It allows me to see things from a different perspective and then share them with my friends, sparking insightful conversations.
Let’s go back to the thought of releasing what no longer serves us. It’s a common phrase I hear from time to time. It’s meant as an instruction to let go of old thoughts, thought patterns, feelings, and beliefs that prevent us from progressing in whatever way we desire. That’s fine. What got me thinking was the “no longer serves us” part of the sentence.
Last week, I went with a friend of mine to attend the talk of another healer. This healer is probably the strongest person I’ve met in the metaphysical world with his gifts. My friend has a few significant physical ailments and I suggested that she go to see him speak and maybe participate in the demonstration at the end. The first thing he did was tell her to relax, and she crossed her arms over her chest. Body language experts will tell you that is not a relaxed position. It’s defensive. He got her to drop her arms, but then she locked her hands in front of her like a bodyguard. Again, he told her to relax and keep her arms at her side. Long story short, he was able to work on her, but it wasn’t a smooth, flowing process. The energy stuttered, trying to get through her body. There was physical improvement in movement and pain reduction afterward.
My friend is a Leo who likes being the center of attention. She needs to be needed and prides herself on being able to step up despite her physical challenges. Then I thought about her healing session and how she was unwilling to let go of what was going on in her body despite her volunteering for the healing. My observation while dealing with circumstances like that are that the person doesn’t want to let go of it because it serves some purpose.
Another friend of mine wanted to refer a client to me. She’s worked with her for some time and can’t seem to make any progress. My friend thought that if I worked with the client, I could get her to release the energies and entities she was holding. I told my friend that it wouldn’t do any good. The client kept saying she wanted to have these energies removed but refused to stop doing the things that continued to attract them. It was a never-ending cycle of removal, reattachment, and removal again. It doesn’t make sense for a healer to get involved with a client like that. Unless the healer wants a repeat client, the situation is perfect for them, but that’s not the relationship I want with my clients. I’m kind of a one-and-done person. It’s not that I don’t appreciate repeats, but there are certain things where repetition is not a good thing.
All this is to say that when you work on releasing things that no longer serve you, give some serious thought to anything that does serve you that is negative in nature. Those things need to be released for you to make real progress toward your goals. No one is perfect. We all have our flaws and foibles, but to achieve the things that matter to us, we need to be willing to release everything that no longer serves not only us, but our highest good.
firstly I thank you for serving others, I’m sending much love to you ,for you need a big hug. Keep on truckin. Don’t stop helping others . But I do agree that some people are sucking the energy of others to feed there own agenda. I call it stuck on stupid. SOS FOR SHORT .we need to be careful they don’t try to attach to us and make us suffer like them. Much love your brother. William.
