The Inside Scoop on Portals and Vortices (Vortexes)

This is how I view the differences between portals and vortexes based on my experiences. Your mileage may vary. At the end, I will relay a story about a cousin phenomenon of these two that will bend your brain a bit.

Portals

This is the easiest one for me to start with, but it can have a list of complications that go with it. I perceive portals as open doorways or an open window. Energy can pass through. I’ve seen these in different shapes/sizes. They can open indoors or out. They can be on the floor or in the ceiling. They can even be between the walls. They can open in midair. My friend and I found two little ones in her living room while we were playing with dousing rods. I told her I didn’t feel anything sinister about them, but she wanted them shut down anyway.

On occasion, I have seen them open, stay that way for a few minutes, then shut down again. I refer to it as the universe yawning or burping. My theory is that the universe disperses energy by opening up little portals here and there to relieve pressure. I don’t know if that’s true, but when I come across portals like that, they feel harmless and close quickly. Then there are the portals that are not good. A friend of mine and her housemates lived in a house where ghosts kept walking through the house. One of the housemates was a medium and could see them. It was she who noticed that the ghosts she saw were different. She never saw the same ones twice. It wasn’t until I scanned the property at their request that we found out they had a portal that was connected to somewhere that allowed ghosts to step through. Their house was functioning like a bus station for ghosts, and not all of them were nice. There was one that the medium in the house seemed to be growing attached to, as it took the form of a little boy that she talked to every day. She was sad and angry when I told her that what she was spending her time with was not a little boy. It wasn’t even human. After I said that to her, she recognized all the signs her intuition had picked up about the situation but chose to ignore them.

To me, portals are open energy spaces between dimensions. They have little inherent energy, and they open and close at random unless someone creates one for a specific purpose, such as allowing a bunch of ghosts or entities to enter a home. There are often windows where something on the other side of the portal can look into this one. This often occurs with mirrors. When clearing a home, I will seal those to prevent the occupants from feeling like they are being watched and from the portal/window from becoming a portal/door, allowing whatever is on the other side to step through.

Vortices or Vortexes

These get more complicated, although I use the terms portal and vortex interchangeably. If I want to be precise, what makes a portal a vortex is swirling energy. A typical portal feels open. A vortex has a whirlpool of energy at its center. It can either be drawing energy in or pushing energy out. That energy can be positive or negative. The energy can be turning so slowly as to be almost imperceptible and other times it’s going so fast, anyone near it may feel dizzy. A vortex typically does not close on its own. It was created/opened by someone or something for a purpose and will remain there until someone closes it. However, there are some places where they occur naturally.

Sedona, AZ, is famous for the ones there. Years ago, I visited with the intention of checking them out. They all felt different. Some gave me a headache, and others made me want to leave right away because the energy was unpleasant. Others were fine, but none of the ones I visited felt really good to me. In other words, I didn’t resonate well with them. It could be that my energy wasn’t high enough to do that or it could have been that I wasn’t in the right state of mind. I was there in the summer when it was about 105 degrees. To say the heat was making me cranky was an understatement. It probably wasn’t the best time to be in the desert.

For the most part, it’s not beneficial to be near a vortex. In doing an energy clearing on a home, I almost never leave a vortex open. I often find that entities are belched out into the home when they are inside. There was one exception because the vortex was outside and far enough away from the house to affect the occupants. It was being used by the fairies to come into our dimension and spend time on the owner’s property. It was something the family wanted as they felt it had been there for a long time, so I left it alone. I also put energy around the area to protect them from the vortex potentially being hijacked by something else.

Vortexes have a lot of energy, and for those who are not used to being around that level of constantly moving energy they can sometimes have side effects like dizziness, headaches, and nausea. I was at a psychic fair once, and a group purposely opened a large vortex at the fair. It is part of their metaphysical practice to work with the energy of the vortex and open it whenever they want. The problem was that they opened a large vortex that was big enough for something to walk through and left it open. The energy it emitted rolled out past the space of their booth and was strong enough to disrupt the overall energy of the fair. People were talking about how the energy had changed and how they weren’t feeling so good. A woman sitting at my table for a reading described it as a disturbance that made her feel sick. After I taught her how to build an energy shield, she created one for herself, which lessened the effects of the open vortex.

Vortices (vortexes) are not always harmful, but neither are they always harmless. I have found them to be unstable and unpredictable. When there are people with vulnerabilities, such as children, the elderly, or someone ill, I will shut down any vortex I find near them to help protect their energy from becoming even more vulnerable due to the influence of a vortex. I didn’t close down the one that was opened at the fair as it was a public space, not a private home where I could get the permission of the owner, and it wasn’t my place as another participant at the fair to tell them to shut it down. They eventually did, but only after someone told the organizer that it was disrupting the overall energy and that people were so uncomfortable that they were leaving.

There is also a huge vortex that I’ve mentioned once before in Oregon. I’ve been there; it’s very cool, but I had to have a thick shield over me while I was there, or I would have been nauseous the entire time. When I scanned the energy of it, it didn’t just feel like a vortex. Again, a vortex is like a door between rooms or an open window. The vortex in Oregon didn’t feel like that. When I sent energy through, it didn’t go from one dimension to another as is typical with portals and vortexes. It felt like it went down a long hallway before getting to the other side. To me, that signifies a cousin of portals and vortexes. It felt like a wormhole.

Wormholes

There is a scientific definition of wormholes that you are welcome to look up if you like. I view it as having two doorways with a long hallway in between. It has the capacity to cover great distances and even traverse time. The way I explained it to a friend would be if I walked out of my kitchen and into my friend’s kitchen, which is about 10 miles away. I might get the sensation of walking down a hallway, or I might not, depending on how fast the energy in the vortex moves.

When I went to the Oregon vortex, that was the first time I had gotten the sensation that it was a wormhole instead of just an open door. The energy of it moves very slowly, but there is a lot of it. This past weekend, I also had the experience of closing a vortex. It was a small one, only about a foot in diameter. It was a situation I had never faced before. Here’s the brain-bending story I promised you at the beginning. The wormhole I closed was running through a person. She had a wormhole opening in her stomach. When she sat down, she said she thought it was a portal. I nodded. I have closed a portal attached to a person before. I’ll tell that story in a future article.

My client said she noticed it while in meditation. I usually start my energy work with a scan to assess what I’m looking at. I like to have a good idea of what I might face before I start. I scanned her energy and found what I thought would be a portal, but when the energy passed over it, I realized that the energy was going through it and that it was traveling before it exited the other end. The short version of what happened is that I closed down both sides of the wormhole and put up energy shields to prevent another wormhole from that dimension from attaching to her again and sent her on her merry way. I’ll give you the full details in another article. There’s too much to unpack here.

If you are someone who does energy clearings on your house or someone else’s, remember to keep these on the list of things you look for to clear out and close down. If you want someone else to do an energy clearing on your house, it’s a good idea to ask your chosen person to see if they check for them and if they are able to close them. I’ve seen too many cases where people were hired to clear a property, but it didn’t stay clear for very long due to a portal that was not closed. It’s important to check, and if you want to see if you have any yourself, you can find them with a pendulum or dousing rods.

Now you have the scoop on portals, vortexes, and wormholes.
