Most of us are terrible at asking for help, not only in everyday life but also in the metaphysical. We have an entire spiritual team available to assist us.
The team may consist of angels, your ancestors, guardians, guides, deities, and perhaps even aliens. You could have friends that have passed away or your children looking after you. Don’t discount former pets, either. They can hang out with you for moral support even after they have passed on. If you’re religiously inclined, you can also call on gods and saints as well.
Each member of the team is there for a specific reason. They are there to lend you strength to get through something or guide you to the choice that is for your highest good. They can nudge you toward something for your benefit or away from something for your safety. If you allow them to, they can support you throughout your entire life.
Others have said that the team is with you every moment of every day. In my experience, that isn’t necessarily true. Some of the team members may be with you frequently but not all the time. Most of the guides I have help others as well. It makes sense that they do, as I don’t always need help. Their time is best served moving around as needed. The permanent ones for me don’t stand next to me every minute. If they did, as I can feel and sense them, it would drive me crazy. It’s also selfish to think that they are only standing here to help us. They are on their own journey as a soul. They have chosen to help us but occasionally step away from us to do their own thing. They are never far away from us and know when we need them, but they don’t stay on top of us every minute of every day. That would be like having a helicopter parent hovering over your every move. No one wants that. We need space to grow, and so do they. As they are needed, they step forward.
Here is where it gets tricky. Even if they are standing right next to us and know we need their help, they can’t do anything unless we ask them to. Why is that, you ask? Free Will.
We have the right at all times to do whatever we choose to do with our lives. No one, not our guides, angels, ancestors, etc., has the right to interfere with our choices. If we make choices that lead to our death, they will let it happen. Why? It was our choice. They might send you messages telling you it’s not a good idea, but ultimately, you decide, and they have to abide by your decision regardless of the consequences. Free will can be complicated as other things can influence our choices. If someone has an entity attached to them, they could be influenced to make a better choice for the entity than the person. If someone is involved with a controlling person or is manipulated into it, they may make a detrimental choice. If someone is having addiction issues, the decision-making part of their brain doesn’t function properly, again leading to bad choices. Someone may also be so self-destructive as to purposely choose the most difficult and damaging choice they can due to having low or no self-esteem.
The one thing most of us suffer from is pride. We are taught to believe that once we turn 18, we should be able to become responsible for ourselves. That we are fully prepared for the challenges of the world. Think back to when you were 18. Were you prepared to take on the world? I wasn’t. Most of us aren’t, yet we take on that expectation and fumble our way through it with our still-developing brains and hope we don’t make a life-changing mistake. The other thing that can happen is the refusal to depend on another person. There is a practical reason for this in the everyday world. People can let us down. They can say one thing in one minute and then say the opposite in the next. If someone is already going through something difficult, the last thing they need is to ask for help and then be unsure if it will be there when they need it.
This is the logic that people use when thinking about the spirit team, but it’s a false assumption. The team doesn’t eat, sleep, or worry about time. They don’t have to worry about taking their dog for a walk. If we call them, they can be next to you in the space between heartbeats 24/7/365. All they need you to do is ask for help, and they can intervene on your behalf however they can. Sometimes that is giving you a sense of not being alone, other times it’s guiding you to go somewhere or to speak to a certain person. They can advise you on anything. I have some days when I don’t know what to do with myself as I have so many projects going that I often find myself in analysis paralysis. I usually ask where I can get the most done for that day, and then I get an urge to do something specific. That’s what I work on for the day.
Only a couple of weeks ago, there was a metaphysical meeting in a town about an hour and a half away from me. Normally, I wouldn’t drive that far for something like that, but my guides insisted I go. It took me two hours as traffic was horrendous and I walked in not knowing what was going on, but while I was there, I helped some people, they helped me and it was worth the drive. Allowing your guides to steer you will put you in positions where you could begin to do great things if you’re willing to listen. When you don’t know what to do with a project or a situation, remind yourself that you can always ask for spiritual help.
