Unless you’ve been living totally off-grid and have no contact with the outside world, you have had a front-row seat to what’s happening in your country and in the world. I firmly believe that watching or listening to the news should be kept at a minimum. Why? It keeps us in a state of perpetual fight or flight. The state that has us on edge, always looking for potential dangers. If you believed everything someone told you was dangerous, you wouldn’t leave your bed, except even beds can be dangerous if you happen to fall off one and hurt yourself. I’ve come across a bunch of articles and listened to some speakers who have talked about the physical effects of being in that state long-term. It affects us mentally and physically. There are measurable physiological changes that occur when we are constantly in that state.
The answer is obviously to calm the f*ck down, but that’s not always possible. Some of us need to watch the news to get relevant information for whatever reason. It’s also not good to be completely isolated. No one knows everything, and it’s important to know crucial information like ‘don’t go to the mall right now, the police are looking for an active shooter,’ I’m not trying to make light of a situation like that but to demonstrate that while too much doom and gloom are not good, access to information is necessary.
The other reason it’s hard to be calm is that for people who are sensitive to energy, what’s happening on the planet feels like what I imagine would be like sitting on a cactus. It’s hard and prickly, and no matter which way you move, the stinging continues. (No cactuses were harmed in the writing of this blog post.) Even people who aren’t sensitive to energy can feel it. Only they can’t identify it, but they react to it, and that’s why we are living in a bucket of crazy.
If I didn’t know better, I would say there was something in the water. People are fifteen kinds of crazy right now. The reasons are many, no jobs, no homes, little to no social interaction, no whatever it is they think they need. It’s causing people to crack.
As people who work with energy, we understand that the physical material situation is then causing mental stress, which then generates negative energy that blows out into the shared energy space affecting other people. Like it or not, we are all joined together energetically. The old phrase about who your friends are says a lot about you is true. Think about the people you surround yourself with. Are they worriers, are they naysayers, or are they optimistic? It makes a difference.
No one can be happy all the time, but you can be content most of the time if you choose to be. Even that is tough some days, and on others, you might only have enough energy to get out of bed. We all have to be more aware of how we’re feeling and do what we need to do to keep ourselves going.
Now we come to the point. I know I can be a bit long-winded. Energy Protection. Even if you don’t have anything to do with energy healing because it is way too woo-woo for you, you must understand the concept of “vibes” as in good ones and bad ones. Here’s a simple way to perpetuate the good ones and sluff off the bad ones. Use an energy shield. What?
Suspend belief for a moment and stay with me. It’s a proven scientific fact that the human body generates a biomagnetic field that can be measured. In metaphysics, that is called the aura. What I’m suggesting is to create an energy field using thought and intention to put over your aura. How the heck do I do that? Imagine yourself completely inside a translucent egg. Its purpose is to allow good vibes to pass through to you and any good vibes you have to pass to others. It also prevents your bad energy from leaking out into the world and dulls the effect bad energy from others has on you.
It sounds hokey but try it. It doesn’t cost you anything, and think of it as your own personal experiment. Test it out in certain circumstances, such as right before you have to do something uncomfortable or unpleasant. See how you feel afterward, see how people react to you during. Whatever parameters you set for it is up to you. This is a prove it to yourself thing. It could lead you to validate your beliefs that it’s all a bunch of hoo-hah or it could make you curious enough to want to explore more.
It works for me and for people who have learned energy shielding from me. The translucent egg is a good catch-all for everyday things, but there are many other ways to shield. But if you’re not into the woo-woo like I am, forming the intention for some of them might be tough. I always suggest that you put yourself in the egg first thing in the morning while you’re brushing your teeth or taking a shower. It can help start your day right. The cool thing about energy protection is that you can not only do it for yourself, but you can also do it for others. That means kids, pets, and other people with their permission.
If you’re still on the fence about this idea, think about this. When little kids fall down and start crying, an adult picks them up and sits with them in their lap or carries them. We’ve seen this a million times. What we’re not seeing is that the adult’s aura is now covering the child. This is what comforts children. This is what comforts us, the energy of another person. It’s not the words we say. It’s our physical and energetic presence that brings about a feeling of calmness. Energy shields are an easy way to share our energy with those we love. With practice, they are easy to build and useful for energy protection when the whole world is nuts.
